Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

What is CPD?
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is a process of tracking and recording training hours, skills, knowledge, and experience of principal officers and trustees.

Who needs to do CPD?
  • Designated Principal Officers and Retirement Fund Trustees must complete a mandatory CPD programme
  • CPD is not compulsory for Batseta members. However, we do encourage all members to follow the training programmes

CPD Programme
A Retirement Fund may opt to develop their own training plan, or they may use the Batseta default training options.

Recognition of Prior Learning Programme (RPL)
Learning can take place in a formal way. Batseta is the examining body for the occupational qualifications registered for retirement fund fiduciaries. We offer a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for the following qualification:
  • Occupational Certificate: Professional Principal Executive Officer
  • Occupational Certificate: Professional Principal Executive Officer (Retirement Fund Trustee)
